What an expandable case adds

An expansion zip runs around the middle of the case and opens an extra layer of depth when it is unzipped. The case keeps its normal depth in transit and gains packing space when the buyer needs it, which is why the format sells well into markets with mixed trip lengths.

The structure question

Extra depth only helps if the case stays stable once it is opened. The expansion layer has to be supported by the shell and by a compression panel inside, otherwise the case bulges when full and stops tracking straight on its wheels. The zip itself needs a heavier gauge than a standard closure because it takes load every time the case is packed.

Tell us the depth you want closed and expanded, the shell material and the price band. Compression straps, wheels and locks can be specified on the same order. MOQ is 200 pieces per model.
