The five blocks

Block 2: the TE-ID

The TE-ID is the organization's identity in the Textile Exchange system. It links the certificate to the audited company and its sites, and it is the reference used in the Textile Exchange certificate database. A certificate without a TE-ID, or with an ID that does not resolve, is not a Textile Exchange certificate.

Block 3 and 4: product and process scope

The product scope names the certified product categories - for our supplier, woven fabrics (greige and dyed) with recycled post-consumer polyester content, plus carried accessories. The process scope names the certified operations - preparatory, weaving, warehousing and dyeing, with dyeing marked as potentially subcontracted. Scope matters because a certificate covers only what it lists: a product category outside the scope is not covered by the certification.

Block 5: validity

This is the block that changes the reading of the whole document. The certificate was valid through January 11, 2025 - and on the date of this article, that date has passed. The document proves the supplier held GRS scope certification up to that date; it does not prove current certification. Any current claim requires a current scope certificate plus transaction certificates.
